APA 2024 Seminar Dates & Updates
58th ANNUAL SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP
A message from our Seminar Chair Lisa Ribacoff
Dear Members of the APA,
The Board of Directors is happy to announce that the 58th Annual Seminar and Workshop will be taking place starting Sunday, August 25, 2024 through Friday, August 30, 2024 in New Orleans. We are very excited that the Hilton Riverside will be our seminar site as our previously two scheduled conferences at this location were canceled due to a hurricane and COVID. The Hilton Riverside is the Crescent City’s premier hotel because of the ideal location along the bank of the Mississippi, and being walking distance to renowned dining, shopping and unique attractions such as the French Quarter and Harrah’s Casino.
The government per diem lodging rate is $143.00 per night plus 14% tax which will be for both single and double occupancy rooms. For those that want to arrive early or extend their stay, these rates will be available for three days prior and after. Included in your room reservation, all attendees staying at the Hilton Riverside will have complimentary access to the Fitness Center, complimentary internet in your guest room, and a 50% discount on self-parking,
Registration for the conference is expected to be opening in January 2024 and will be available on the APA website. The conference schedule is expected to be ready at the same time with the understanding that schedule changes can occur and as they do, these updates will be made available on the social media pages for the APA as well as on the website under the Annual Seminar Training tab.
The Sunday Night Reception is a big hit and I’m happy to announce that planning for it is underway. We are planning to have live music, door prizes, and a photobooth to capture memories from reconnecting with colleagues at the party. We have had themed receptions in the past and it’s been great seeing participation from attendees. We’ve decided to continue this and are happy to announce that this year’s theme is going to be a Pirate Party. The Port of New Orleans was the staging ground in the early 1800’s for smuggling and where America’s first pirate was from.
More updates will be provided as we get closer to registration as well as the seminar. These updates will be available here on the APA website, on our social media pages, as well as in the APA Magazine in the Board Reports provided by the Board of Directors.
