58th ANNUAL SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP Update (April 2024)
A message from our Seminar Chair Lisa Ribacoff
Dear Members of the APA,
The Board of Directors is happy to announce that the 58th Annual Seminar and Workshop will be taking place starting Sunday, August 25, 2024 through Friday, August 30, 2024 in New Orleans at the Hilton Riverside.
The government per diem lodging rate is $143.00 per night plus 14% tax which will be for both single and double occupancy rooms. For those that want to arrive early or extend their stay, these rates will be available for three days prior and after. Included in your room reservation, all attendees staying at the Hilton Riverside will have complimentary access to the Fitness Center, complimentary internet in your guest room, and a 50% discount on self-parking,
The Sunday Night Reception is a big hit and I’m happy to announce that planning for it is underway. We will have live music, door prizes, and a photobooth to capture memories from reconnecting with colleagues at the party. We have had themed receptions in the past and it’s been great seeing participation from attendees. We’ve decided to continue this and are happy to announce that this year’s theme is going to be Pirates. The Port of New Orleans was the staging ground in the early 1800’s for smuggling and where America’s first pirate was from.
On Tuesday night, we will be having an APA Sponsored Event and will be having it on the Creole Queen River Boat. We will have the river boat to ourselves. It is open to your families and spouses as well, not just to attendees of the conference. This is a great opportunity to take in the sunset views of New Orleans as well as enjoy dinner with friends both old and new. The pier is located right outside our hotel so there is no need to travel far to access the riverboat. Tickets are going to be sold at $55.00 per person and include the riverboat cruise ticket plus a buffet dinner featuring Salads, Chicken, Jambalaya, Braised Beef Brisket, Cajun Seafood Pasta, Assorted Vegetables and Potatoes, and Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce. Iced Tea, Soft Drinks, Water and Coffee are included in the price. There will be three cash bars to purchase alcohol should you choose to do so. We will be boarding the boat from 6:00pm-7:00pm and will return back to the hotel at 9:00pm. Payment for the event will be located at the bottom of this message under the tentative schedule and registration links. We look forward to seeing everyone one there.
The member rate remains at $400. It becomes $450 after the deadline and $500 at the door.
The fee for non-member is $650.00. It becomes $700 if they register after the deadline and if they register at the door it is $750.
The cutoff date for registration and payment is August 9, August 17 with $50 late fee, August 27 with $100 late fee (pay at the door).
