Biography and Additional Professional Information
Robert J. Drdak has over 40 years experience in Law Enforcement and served as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 28 years, retiring in December 1999. During his service in the FBI, Mr. Drdak was instrumental in the management, investigation, and prosecution of major high profile cases throughout the United States. He has extensive experience in white-collar crime violations, public corruption, criminal organizations, and national security matters. He was the senior examiner and manager of the FBI’s polygraph program in North Carolina for 11 years, conducting over 1000 polygraph examinations. He has served as a Behavioral Science / Criminal Profiling coordinator and an Informant Program manager. Mr. Drdak is an FBI certified Police Instructor and has been the featured speaker at regional and national training seminars. He has received numerous awards and commendations from the Director of the FBI.
Mr. Drdak is a 1968 graduate of Wake Forest University. His polygraph related education and experience is extensive. He graduated from the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DODPI)in 1988 and the FBI / University of Virginia course in Advanced Polygraph Science in 1990. He has received over 2000 hours of basic and advanced instruction in polygraph and related investigative disciplines. He is a qualified expert witness in state and federal courts. Since his retirement from the FBI, he has served as an instructor at DODPI and is currently an adjunct instructor, often presenting blocks of instruction at national training seminars. He has been a visiting instructor at the Pennsylvania State Police Polygraph School and has been a Certified Primary Instructor. Mr. Drdak authored the polygraph protocol for a pilot program in the federal Western Judicial District of North Carolina designed to monitor sex offenders on federal probation and has written several published articles on polygraph as well as advanced instructional material.
Mr. Drdak has performed polygraph related services for the FBI, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Energy Office of Counterintelligence, the Department of Defense, the United States District Court, and numerous local law enforcement agencies. He routinely provides professional polygraph support for members of the judicial, legal and business communities. During his polygraph career he has conducted in excess of 4000 polygraph examinations, many in sensitive high profile cases including the Duke University Lacrosse case, the two largest armored car thefts in US history, the Eric Rudolph / Atlanta Olympics bombing investigation, the Oklahoma City bombing investigation and numerous classified national security initiatives. He has acted as a consultant for NBC News/Dateline, Fox Financial News, WRAL-TV, and the Discovery Channel, and has been referred to in the national press as one of the premier polygraph examiners in the United States.
Mr. Drdak specializes in complex results oriented polygraph examinations using the most reliable testing formats and state of the art equipment available. His professional affiliations include the American Polygraph Association, the American Association of Police Polygraphists, the North Carolina Polygraph Association (past president and board chairman), the South Carolina Association of Polygraph Examiners (charter member), and the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina.
