Biography and Additional Professional Information
2014-Current: I administer the Department's flagship crime and violence reduction strategy known as "Focused Deterrence," and I am the senior polygraph operator.
2012-2014: Public Information & Crime Prevention Sergeant, Professional Standards Division: I served as the official media spokesperson for the Department and led the crime prevention and community policing and community partnership efforts department-wide
2003-2012: Sergeant, Criminal Investigations Bureau: I oversaw the assignment, case management, and investigation of criminal cases by detectives in the Property Crimes Unit, the Surveillance Squad, and later in the Major Crimes Unit and Forensics Unit.
1997-2003: Sergeant, Patrol Division: I led daily a platoon of 15 police officers and was responsible for the general police patrol operations citywide.
1996-1997: Public Affairs Sergeant and Crime-Stoppers Coordinator, Professional Standards Division: I served as the crime prevention and media spokesperson for the Department.
1996: Bicycle Patrol Officer, Tactical Patrol Unit; Patrol Division: Assigned to the Uptown Greenville commercial district, I worked as part of a community oriented policing team.
1993-1996: Police Accreditation Officer: Professional Standards Division: I helped lead the Department toward meeting the standards of national police accreditation for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
1993-1999: Emergency Response Team: I was an operator trained in special weapons and tactics for high risk police incidences.
1992-2006: Internal Affairs—Firearms Discharge Investigation Team: On an as-needed basis, I led a team conducting internal affairs investigations of officer-involved shooting incidents.
1992-1993: Field Training Officer, Patrol Division: I was accountable for the training and supervision of police officer recruits.
1991-1993: Patrol Officer, Patrol Division: Responsible for the safety and quality of life for the community.
