Biography and Additional Professional Information
Dennis Alamo started his career in law enforcement in the early 70's with the Newark PD, where he was quickly recognized for his abilities and was assigned to the
East District Det. Squad as one of the youngest dectives at the time. Thereafter, he was sent to the Sexual Assaults Rape Analysis training at the State Police Training Unit in Sea Girt, NJ. Then reassigned to newly formed S.A.R.A. In 1979, Dennis joined the Morris County Prosecutor's Office where he was assigned to the Homicide/Major Crime Squad. In 1981 he returned to his native Newark PD, where he was assigned to the Detective Division and was sent for Polygraph training in Pennsylvania. Upon his completion of the training, he was assigned to the Newark Police Polygraph Unit. In 1984, he was the examiner. In 1988, he was promoted to Lieutenant of Investigators, in charge of the Polygraph Unit, Training Unit, while working with the Official Corruption/Economic Crime Unit. In 1989, Dennis became a civil service polygraph examiner who had completed several thousand examinations pertaining to homicides, sexual assaults, frauds, arsons, robberies, child abuse cases, etc. Mr. Alamo has conducted Polygraph examinations in the past for federal agencies, postal inspectors, the Waterfront Commission, Port Authority Police Department, and several municipalities in Essex County and also for the Union County Prosecutor's Office, Morris County Prosecutor's Office. In 1998, he was assigned to the Essex County Prosecutor's Cold Case Homicide Squad in NJ wehre he lead a team of highly trained incvestigators in attempt to solve old homicide cases. Dennis' list of professional organizations is almost endless: New Jersey Polygraph Association, American Polygraph Association, Past President of the Society of Investigators of Greater Newark, Member of the PBA and also FOP of Newark, Charter Member of the Polygraphists of Pennsylvania, and member of various community organizations. He is the Past President of the Superiors Officers Association of Essex County Prosecutor's Office. A New Jersey State Certified Range Master, and a certified instructor of at the Essex County Police Academy, he instructed on his interview techniques and the Polygraph laws of the State of New Jersey.
In 2001, Mr. Alamo became President of Alamo Associates, LLC, an investigative and polygraph firm. A state licensed and bonded corporation, Alamo Associates, LLC, prides itself on its level of discretion and confidentiality which are its cornerstones. Clients are guaranteed that all Alamo Associates professionals work under the highest ethical standards. Through Alamo Associates, Mr. Alamo brings his experience of over 30 years to his clients.
Mr. Alamo is expert in polygraph examinations, investigations, protectice services, surveillance, and security surveys and assessments. In addition, Mr. Alamo offers other services such as supoena service, client/witness interviews and statments, scene examinations and reconstruction, executive protection, and pre-employment interviews along with staff training.
