Biography and Additional Professional Information
I was born in New Zealand and have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Victoria University, Wellington. I was an Intelligence Officer in the New Zealand Government’s Intelligence agency, the Security Intelligence Service, for 25 years.
During this period my career involved a wide range of intelligence collection and analysis and I represented and spoke on behalf of the New Zealand Government both domestically, and internationally.
I established the first Intelligence Unit for the Department of Immigration and later, as Manager of the New Zealand Government's Security Clearance Vetting program, I was responsible for the final recommendation relating to the granting of security clearances to Government employees requiring access to classified information.
I am the only certified practicing Scientific Content Analysis (SCAN) analyst in New Zealand, having completed training in Canberra, Australia, and advanced instruction at the Headquarters of the Laboratory for Scientific Interrogation, in Phoenix, Arizona.
I attended the Missouri Law Enforcement Academy and undertook my Polygraph training and PCSOT training with the National Polygraph Academy under the tuition of former APA Presidents Pam Shaw and Mike Gougler.
I retired from the Government in 2006 and operate my own pre-employment back screening and polygraph examination business.
I am the only US-trained Polygraph Examiner in New Zealand.
